National Conference 2023
ILSTA has the pleasure to announce our 5th National Conference hosted by the Office of the Supreme People’s Prosecutor which will take place on 2-3 March in the National Convention Centre, Vientiane. The theme of this year’s conference is the Effective Implementation of Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism Measures, “AML/CFT, the Mutual Evaluation Process and The Way Forward”.
This conference will serve as a forum to discuss national policies on Anti-Money Laundering and combating-Financing of Terrorism, challenges and good practices for Mutual legal Assistance. It will bring together national agencies from government and private sector, judiciary and law enforcement authorities, international experts, and FIUs from Thailand, Cambodia and the Philippines.
Annual Conference 2020
The 4th Annual Conference took place on 11-13 February in the National Convention Centre, Vientiane. The main theme of this year’s conference was organised crime with a focus on money laundering, mutual legal assistance and evidence in criminal proceedings.
All key Lao stakeholders were represented and a number of international experts from different parts of the world presented. Attendees involved in interactive case studies and witnessed the demonstration of criminal cases on money laundering and human trafficking in Mock Trial.
Conference Report
Following the National Conference, Regional Conferences were held in the provinces of Luang Prabang, Khammouane and Champasak which focused on practical aspects of the themes of the National Conference.
